It caused a lot discussions between the enthusiasts. In fact, it stole the show from the Los Angeles Auto Show, both for its performance and technology, and for its name. If you haven’t guessed yet, this is about the Ford Mustang Mach E, the first of a long line of 100% electric vehicle that Ford will offer in the future.
Technically, the Mach E is a success. With its five versions, its range of up to 480 kilometers and the ability of its GT version to accelerate like a racing car, it is spectacular.
You just have to take a look inside, to admire the large 15.5-inch central screen, or the smallest screen that serves as a dashboard for the pilot, to realize the effort invested in this vehicle to make it innovative and spectacular.
But then, why was a sport utility vehicle called Mustang ?
A question that purists (and that we, too) are often asked. The answer is simple: because the Mach E has everything you need to be a Mustang, except the traditional form.
Let's first take the time to define what a Mustang is: it is a car with spectacular performance. The Mach E can accelerate, with its GT Performance, up to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. We can say that the comparison holds.
It’s a car (the Mustang) that made history. We can safely say that the Mach E has already done the same thing if we judge by the comments collected everywhere.
It is a car that has lasted over time. True, but it has evolved and changed a lot over the years. We must therefore perceive the Mach E as an evolution of what the modern Mustang will be.
It is a car with an easily recognizable physique. Look at the Mach E: it shares the rear lights, the galloping horse, and the general, but elevated, silhouette of the traditional Mustang.
